Violin Sisters – ‘Queens of Violin’
Posted by ElJay Arem (IMC OnAir) on December 29, 2008
The Violin has been played in South India for ceturies and the locals even beleive that India gave this great instrument to the West. Whatever its origins, this is your chance to hear the violin in the highly melodious and virtuosic Carnatic (South Indian Classical) style.
Kalaimamani Dr. M. Lalitha and Kalaimamani M. Nandini are internationally acclaimed violin maestros and have been widely applauded as the ‘Queens of Violin’ (South African Times) of the present generation. Popularly known as the ‘Violin Sisters’ these outstanding musicians have enthralled audiences with their spell bounding music.
SAA-uk is delighted to be welcoming these two international artists for the first time in Leeds.
