Das Indian Festival Committee Hamburg e.V. lädt alle Indien-Interessierten und Indienfreunde mit ihren Familien ein zum 10-tägigen DURGA PUJA- FEST (Verehrung der Göttin Durga).

(Kurze Vorstellung zu Ehren der renommierten Poeten aus West Bengal – Rabindranath Tagore und Kazi Nazrul Islam)

11.10.13: Morgenandacht 12.00 Uhr | Abendandacht 19.00 Uhr

(Nach der Verteilung von Puja und Prasad: Programm von Kindern.)

12.10.13: Morgenandacht 12.00 Uhr | Shandhi Puja 19.00 Uhr | Abendandacht 19.30 Uhr

(Nach dem Abendessen: Kathak Tanzvorstellung Chaitali Ray (Kolkata).)

Today’s concert features Carnatic vocalist Rama Ravi, a concert musician for over three decades. Ms. Ravi has featured in Sangeet Sammelan recitals, and national programs on Doordarshan and All India Radio. Her performances have also won international acclaim, for instance, at the Paris Autumn Festival, broadcast nationally in France, where her classicism was applauded by the perceptive audience.

Nava Durga: The Nine Appellations – The 9 Forms of The Mother Goddess

Nava – that also means ‘new’ – denotes ‘nine’ the number to which sages attach special significance. Hence, we have Nava-ratri (9 nights), Nava-patrika (9 leaves / herbs / plants), Nava-graha (9 planets), and Nava-Durga (9 appelletions).

Here’re the 9 manifestations of Goddess Durga. Each goddess has a different form and a special significance. Nava Durga, if worshipped with religious fervor, it is believed, lift the divine spirit in us and fill us with renewed happiness.
