– Indische Fachkräfte im demographischen Wandel

Die Wirtschaft Hamburgs wächst in IT, Medien und Erneuerbaren Energien. Die Bereiche Luftfahrt, Automobilindustrie,
Maritime Wirtschaft, Logistik und Life Sciences spielen ebenfalls eine wichtige Rolle in der Entwicklung Hamburgs.
Um diese Entwicklung zu unterstützen und weiteres Wachstum zu ermöglichen, brauchen Unternehmen viele
gut ausgebildete Fachkräfte. Indien mit Millionen junger, hochmotivierter Hochschulabsolventen und einer dynamischen
Unternehmer- und Forschungslandschaft kann hier ein starker Partner werden! Doch wie ist es um die Fachkräfte
aus Indien wirklich bestellt? Wir wollen über diese Dinge sprechen, erfolgreiche Initiativen vorstellen und der
Frage nachgehen, welchen Mehrwert indische Fachkräfte für deutsche Unternehmen darstellen können.

– Indian Professionals and Demographic Change

The economy of Hamburg is constantly growing in emerging industries like IT, media and renewable energies. Also
aerospace, automotive, maritime, logistics and life sciences play a crucial role in Hamburg’s economic development. To
participate in this development, companies have to integrate a large number of high-profile specialists into their
workforce. With millions of highly motivated graduates and professionals in a dynamic entrepreneurial and research
landscape, India has a huge potential to become a major partner of Hamburg in the global competition for the best
talents. The question remains if Indian professionals are well-prepared to immigrate to Germany? This event will
present various successful initiatives of Indo-German cooperation. We will explore the question of how Indian
professionals can contribute to the success of German companies and address the necessary measures to integrate
Indian specialists into Hamburg’s future economic growth.

Mein Indien in Hamburg

Wir laden alle Hamburger ein, die sich für Indien interessieren, an unserem »Jour Unique« teilzunehmen. In einem
gemeinsamen, moderierten Gespräch mit Tee und Kaffee werden Fragen interkultureller Wahrnehmung in Bezug auf
Indien und Hamburg erörtert. Was wissen Hamburger über Indien? Was gefällt ihnen an Indien und was schreckt sie
ab? Vertreter welcher indischen Ethnien und Religionen leben in unserer Stadt? Welche Sprachen Indiens werden
in Hamburg gesprochen? Auch eine der indischen Tanzsprachen wird vorgestellt und auf Wunsch mit den Teilnehmern
geübt. Das Gespräch wird eine Art Puzzle-Spiel sein, in dem aus den Indien-bezogenen Kenntnissen, Vorstellungen
und Gefühlen der Teilnehmer ein Bild dieses Landes im Bewusstsein der Hamburger entstehen soll. Unter den Teilnehmern sind Wissenschaftler und Schüler, Journalisten und Lehrer, Unternehmer und Studierende.

Hamburg: India in my Mind – in our Minds

We invite all Hamburgers interested in India to participate in our »jour unique«. In a moderated conversation with tea
or coffee, issues of intercultural perception with regard to India and Hamburg will be debated. What do the people of
Hamburg know about India? What do they like about India and what repels them? Representatives of what Indian ethnicities
and religions live in our city? What Indian languages are spoken in Hamburg? Expressions of an Indian dance
will be presented and if desired practiced with the participants.
It will be a kind of a puzzle game through which a picture reflecting a socio-cultural perception of India in Hamburg will emerge from knowledge, ideas and emotions of the participants. Among the participants are scholars, school pupils, journalists, businessmen and students.
