The centrepoint of the evening was the future of the Indian music industry… and our former President had a lot to say! He spoke about a vision for India, stating how technology could be used to help music reach people across the country.

He also mentioned the healing power of music, and cited a real-life example that had a big impact on his life. What better medium that music to curb negativity and violence and enhance harmony, Kalam asked. Pandit Jasraj and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia also spoke about how music has the power to ignite young minds.

The need of the hour, the music legends stated, was to promote new talent. Corporate S Ramadorai noted that music is a universal language and technology is what can take our huge cultural treasure global. Being a music-oriented event, it was only apt that the evening ended with a mesmerising qawwali performance, which the audience that included Durga Jasraj, Ila Arun and others from the music industry, enjoyed.
