O2 Asia releases Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for the Xda Zinc
Following O2 Asia initial announcement to provide Windows Mobile 6 upgrades for selected devices and the introduction of the first Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for the Xda Atom Life, O2 Asia is now pleased to released a free upgrade for the O2 Xda Zinc.
Windows Mobile 6 provides increased value for customers in several key areas, including messaging and collaboration, infrastructure interoperability, security features and platform development including ability to view E-Mail in their original rich HTML format with live links to Web and SharePoint sites, Windows Live for Windows Mobile and file transfer capability in Windows Live Messenger and many more.
O2 Asia offers two ROM versions, a Chinese and an English one (while I’m not sure if you can “cross-upgrade”). As always, the download is available for registered customers only. The upgrade requires a Windows 2000 or XP PC with ActiveSync 4.5 or later. Other operating systems, like Windows Vista, are not supported.
