Tata Indicom launches Internet Radio on Mobile…

BANGALORE: Tata Indicom (TI) has announced the launch of ‘Tata Indicom Mobile Internet Radio’, a live streaming world radio-casts in English, Hindi, Telegu, Tamil and other international languages with MP3 quality sound.

TI has teamed with 41 global international and local radio stations. The service brings together content from major international music, news and sports and Indian radio stations, including Bloomberg, BBC, CNN, Fox Radio, ESPN Radio and Seattle WM.

Called Cell Radio Links, the Brew is an application from the US-based Locate-It Info.

The service is initially available on Motorazr V3C, Samsung Wideo and Motorola World Phone with a subscription charge of Rs 25 for 15 days across all TI’s circles including those markets where FM services haven’t commenced as yet. Eventually the services would be made available even on low-end Brew enabled handsets.

“This innovative product is easy and fun to use and in fact the wireless technology doesn’t even get in the way of a stellar musical experience,” said Tata Teleservice president of value added services Pankaj Seth.

“We have identified mobile entertainment as a key growth driver and we are confident that this radio services will help deliver us expand our market reach and drive new revenues, besides delivering- an amazing radio experience to our customers/subscribers,” he added.

TI claims to have the largest collection of mobile entertainment and infotainment content available on the handset. With this product, TI is the first and currently the only Indian carrier to enable mobile portability of online subscription music and news.
